Description

“Captain Kirk” San Pedro Cactus: 8 lbs. Misc. Diameter TRUNK Cuttings

Premium Trichocereus Pachanoi with Normal Surficial Blemishes

Our exclusive “Captain Kirk” San Pedro Cactus cuttings are back in stock for a special sale! This isn’t your average nursery find; these are heavy-duty, 8-pound miscellaneous diameter trunk cuttings harvested from a privately owned botanical preserve. Because I hold exclusive harvesting rights to this sanctuary, you are receiving a strain that has been protected and nurtured for decades, far away from commercial over-farming.

These specific sections may have superficial blemishes. While the “Captain Kirk” variety is known for its rugged history, we have curated this batch to ensure you receive the cleanest, most aesthetically pleasing trunk sections available. Each order provides 12 inch lengths of premium cactus material, though the diameters will vary (miscellaneous) based on the specific “old giant” harvested.

The Story Behind the “Captain Kirk” Variety

Many of our loyal customers frequently ask when our self-named “Captain Kirk” San Pedro Cactus will return to the shop. The wait is over! We were recently blessed with a beautiful harvest from the private botanical sanctuary where we have exclusive harvesting rights.

Harvesting these specimens is a true labor of love; as I am getting up there in age and work mostly by myself, it is a physically demanding process. These massive columns often blow down during severe wind storms. When these “old giants” fall, I am called in to rescue the wood. Because the terrain is somewhat inaccessible, it is impossible to get heavy equipment close to the site. This means every 8-pound log must be packed out by hand.

I often try to get under the large logs as they are cut to prevent them from hitting the ground too hard—a dangerous task given how wet and heavy they are! I’ve nearly been crushed more than once. While I might get a bit scarred up during the harvest, providing this level of quality to the community makes every scratch worth it.

Why Choose Miscellaneous Diameter Trunk Cuttings?

By offering miscellaneous diameters, we can provide a more diverse range of the plant’s anatomy, ensuring you get a full 8 lbs of high-quality cuttings. Our plants are located in Climate Zone 9, which perfectly mirrors the San Pedro cactus’s native habitat. This results in:

  • Substantial Weight: Every order is weighed to ensure you receive a full 8 lbs of cactus.

  • Diverse Selection: These misc. diameter trunks offer a unique look for any collection, ranging from standard to thicker “trunk” profiles.

  • Resilient Health: Although minor superficial scarring can occur when a 200-pound column falls, these trunks are internally healthy and ready to thrive in your cactus garden.

Shipping and Propagation Details

We provide only genuine San Pedro cactus (Trichocereus pachanoi). Because these trunks are the sturdiest part of the plant, they are the ideal choice for desert landscaping or collectors looking for organic cactus specimens.

Please note that tip cuttings are infrequent. The tips are the most tender part of the plant and often break during high-wind events. However, the trunk sections we offer are the “powerhouse” of the cactus, containing the most stored energy for cactus propagation. We include Free Priority Mail Shipping with every order to ensure your 8-pound cutting arrives fresh and ready for its new home.

Note: Most cuttings may have some minor superficial scarring which occurs naturally when they fall, but they remain fresh, undamaged internally, and ready for planting.
